A poem for Valentine's Day
Dear Valentine - O Valentine,
I wrote this poem for you -
I won't own your affections,
You I'd much rather woo,
But just to be on the safe side,
An electronic tag will do.
Dear Valentine - O Valentine,
It's become so commercial -
Red roses - "For one?", I said
"HOW MUCH a %$&*ing bunch?"
You're worth it - of course!
(...alas, I will need to skip lunch)
Dear Valentine - O Valentine,
Ack! No cards! Not numbering ANY!
I won't become bitter -
Nor twisted, will I - (having spent a fair penny)
In face of rejection,
Give a monkey's? - I don't!
...upon further reflection.
